Solid Rock Missions' Programs
This page is designed to give
you a one stop place to look at giving opportunities with the
ministries we are involved with. We have a number of great programs
that are very effective. At least they are effective when we
have the funds to do them. And most of the time, because of
generous people like you, we are able to help meet a lot of needs
and most importantly, we are able to touch lives for eternity.
Solid Rock Missions is committed
making sure that money given to this ministry is used in an
effective way. Ninety percent of funds given to these
programs is passed on directly to the program you designated it
for. The remaining ten percent is used for receipting,
postage, office staff, newsletters, ministry commitments, etc.
We try to be as efficient as possible in handling your funds.
This page is
dedicated to the programs we run. As we go through them
and describe the programs, there may be an associated button to
take you to a page with more information about the program.
In some cases, all of the information is right here. All
of these are approved Solid Rock Missions' programs. That
means you can give specifically to this particular program or
fund. (We do occasionally return checks to donors if we do not
have a program to handle their desired giving.
Gifts to all of these programs and
projects are tax deductible. Please prayerfully consider
how you can help one or more of these programs or projects.
Student Sponsorship Program
This is one of our most popular programs. For $26 US per
month you can sponsor a child in Christian school. This
not only provides them with an excellent education. It
also provides them a uniform, books and supplies, medical and
dental care, and a hot meal each school day. Solid Rock
Missions runs sponsorships for a number of schools. You
can pick your own student and hopefully you will be receive some
communication from your child a couple of times each year.

Staff Support
Solid Rock Missions does have a small North
American staff as well as staff on the field. All field
staff raise their entire support (or have support committed)
prior to leaving for the field. Gifts for support needs to
be designated for support for a particular individual.
General Fund
The SRM General Fund covers a
lot of territory. It is a valuable fund and it does need
regular gifts to keep it going. The General Fund does pay the salaries
and other expenses of our office staff. More importantly
it also covers our monthly subsidies for the San Juan clinic. This fund
also covers a large number of other ministry expenses, such as
repair of some medical equipment, the canning of
pork for the school lunch programs, generator repair and
maintenance, and occasional emergencies
(such as replacement of electrical transformers after the old
one burned up). Gifts may be designated to this fund.
Gifts-In-Kind
Another important part of our ministry is the
equipment and supplies we either send or take to the Dominican
Republic. Always appreciated is school supplies and
medical supplies. We also appreciate getting good used equipment
that can be used in clinics, hospitals, and schools. The
key here is "good". We do not want to send junk to the
field. And it needs to be something that will
benefit them, not something that will set in the corner and
collect dust.
Infant Survival Program
The Infant Survival Program (ISP) is designed
to provide nutrition to help a young child have a
chance to survive. More specifically, this fund provides
milk, cereal, vitamins and regular visits from a healthcare
worker, to give an infant a chance to grow up healthy.
Malnutrition is a problem that we feel is not going away.
There is a severe problem in the mountain areas near the Haitian
border. Children are losing the battle for their lives.
We are hoping we help and make a difference.
Please designate your gift to ISP in care of Solid Rock
Missions.
This may be the end of this
page but it is not the conclusion of our work or its needs. SRM may bring organization to the chaos of mission work, but we
rely on God to provide through faithful givers like you.
We ask you to prayerfully consider how you can help with these
giving needs and opportunities. Thank you for the
important part you play as well. May God continue to bless
you as you seek ways to serve Him through giving.
